Hi! My name is Matthew Christian from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, today I would like to talk to you about how to properly use and maintain a high limb chain saw. From time to time, it may be necessary to replace your blade or chain. Other times, it may just need sharpening. Most people don't have the pulls necessary or the knowledge to sharpen a chain saw chain. Sometimes it is just more economical just to replace the chain especially for a smaller chain like this. It is pretty simple to remove the chain. Simply most chain saws are the same but we are going to loosen the bar. There's two nuts and by loosening these nuts, it allows the bar to slide back if we can get it to slide back. Actually one more pull. There is also a set screw and the set screw is on the other side here. It is kind of hard to see because this unit is a little dirty but we loosen the bar and that will screw the set screws so that it allows the bar to move further in. Which it will allow the bar to slide further back hence making slack on the chain. Then once we've done that, the chain will come off the bar and we need to put a little more slack here. The chain should come off the bar and it will come off this sprocket and the chain can be removed.
