West Tennessee Corn Bread Recipe

Overview

Very easy simple ans tasty bread. Try this sometime at your breakfast I bet your family will not be able to resist it. Serve this hot bread with melted butter or cheese.

Step 1

Beat egg, mayo, buttermilk, and oil until smooth. Combine meal, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add egg mixture and beat until combined. Grease a 6in. skillet and dust with cornmeal. Add batter and bake at 425 for 18-20 min.

  • 1 1 cup yellow corn meal
  • 1 1 egg
  • 1 1/4 cup mayo
  • 1 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 1 tblsp oil
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
