Flower Pot Hanger

Decorative flower pot hangers add color and style to plain plant containers. You can make flower pot hangers with knotted fabric or string or any variety of beads. Beaded flower pot hangers made from glass, wood, clay or shell beads fit in with many different home décor styles. It’s simple to make a custom beaded plant hanger in any length to fit any size flower pot.

Measure the desired length of the flower pot hanger from the bottom center of the flower pot. Multiply this measurement by two. The measurement should be double because each strand of the flower pot hanger will have two sides.

Cut two strands of 22-gauge craft wire 2 inches longer than the doubled measurement obtained in Step 1.

Thread one crimp bead onto one end of either wire. Add a large jump ring behind the crimp bead. Fold 1 inch of wire through the jump ring and then back through the crimp bead. Crimp the crimp bead with crimping pliers to hold it in place on the wire strand.

Thread the glass beads in any arrangement over the open end of the wire strand. Thread the glass beads to the crimp bead. The first few glass beads should fit over both strands of wire exiting the crimped bead. Fill the strand with glass beads, up to 1 inch from the end.

Add a crimp bead onto the wire at the end the glass beads. Thread the end of the wire through the jump ring. Continue to thread the wire through the new crimp bead. Crimp the bead.

Repeat Steps 3, 4 and 5 with the remaining strand of wire.

Hang the jump ring at the top of the two beaded strands from a hook. Fit the flower pot inside the hanger so that one beaded strand is positioned at the north and south points of the flower pot and the other beaded strand is positioned at the east and west points of the flower pot.
