Cyperus alternifolius, the umbrella sedge, is a perennial shrub. It will get 4 to 6 feet tall and 3 to 6 feet wide in an upright shape with medium growth rate. Grow umbrella sedge in full sun or part sun/shade in well-drained soil. Flowers are green and showy, year-round. Leaves are evergreen and of fine texture.
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, the hibiscus, is a shrub. It will get 10 to 15 feet tall and 6 to 10 feet wide. It has an oval shape and a fast growth rate. Grow a hibiscus in full sun or partial sun/shade in well drained soil. Flowers are showy and white, red, pink, orange, yellow, or salmon and are year-round. Leaves are variegated broadleaf evergreen and medium in texture.
Limonium sinuatum, the statice, is an annual. It will get 1 to 2 feet tall and 1 foot wide. It has an upright shape and a medium growth rate. Grow a statice in full sun in well drained soil. Flowers are showy and year-round in the colors of blue, pink, lavender, white, yellow, or red. Leaves are medium textured and green.
