The laundry room in your home is usually a small room tucked away out of sight. Because of the size of the room, it is often difficult to store all the items you may need in it. If you are having problems with organization in your laundry room, you may need to get a cabinet to get everything together. It is very easy to build a simple cabinet for use in your laundry room.
Build a rectangle with the two pieces of 3/4-inch plywood that are 8 feet tall by 2 feet wide and two of the pieces that are 2 feet square. This rectangle will be the frame for your cabinet with the smaller pieces being the top and bottom and the longer pieces the sides. The top should be even with the top edge of the sides, and the bottom should be offset 1 inch from the bottom edge. Square up all the corners and screw them together.
Measure 1 foot up from the bottom shelf in the interior of the cabinet. Make a mark at this location with the pencil. This will be the location of the bottom of the second shelf. Place a piece of 2-foot-by-2-foot plywood in the cabinet frame at this mark, square it up, and screw it into the sides. Repeat this for the rest of the shelves, making sure there is 1 foot of space between each shelf.
Place the piece of 8-foot-by-2-foot-1-1/2 inch plywood on one side of the cabinet so it covers the opening. This is the back of the cabinet. Screw the back into place along the perimeter of the wood.
Attach the interior hinges to one side of the interior of the cabinet. The hinges should be approximately 1 foot from the top and bottom, with one hinge in the center. Screw them into place.
Attach the piece of 2-foot-1-1/2-inch-by-7-foot-11-inch plywood to the interior hinges with screws. Attach the door handle to the opposite side of this piece of plywood from the hinges.
