How to Replace Husqvarna Mower Tires

Tip

Only replace the tires with recommended replacements in your owner's manual.

Warning

Before you unscrew the tire, double-check the security of the jack or lift.

Even durable mower tires like the ones made by Husqvarna must be replaced after driving over a nail. Tires can be replaced by technicians, but that can be costly. However, with a little patience and the correct replacement tire from Husqvarna, a homeowner can replace tires at home, saving a lot of money on repair costs.

Place the tractor on a flat surface so it the tractor will not fall over once it is lifted up.

Slide a jack under the engine frame. If you have a tractor lift, place it under the tractor's front bumper. Jack up or lift the tractor so that the damaged tire is off the ground.

Pop the rubber axle cover off the center of the wheel with a flat screwdriver. If it has been a while since it has been popped off, this might take a few seconds.

Unscrew the bolt with a 3/8-inch wrench. A washer and retaining ring will fall behind the bolt.

Remove the tire from the axle.

Pry the tire off the wheel with a flat screwdriver by applying pressure with the screwdriver's head in between the tire and wheel.

Slide the new tire on the wheel once you pop the damaged tire off.

Push the new tire and wheel onto the axle. Slide the washer and retaining ring over the axle.

Screw the bolt over the retaining ring with the wrench. Place the rubber axle cover over the bolt.

Lower the jack or tractor lift.
