Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm here to show you how to clean your carpet and upholstery. Luckily, you know, carpets and couches and sofas, love seats, things like that are all made of the same material which is cotton; a lot of them. You know, there's some polyester in there also, but, usually you'd use the same thing to clean your upholstery as you would your carpet. So, what I like to use for spot cleaning is just vinegar and water. This is about a cup of vinegar and a quart of water. It just takes a splash of vinegar and it's also is great at get ridding, getting rid of smells. It's really really good for microfiber furniture. It's what I have in my home and it's not really easy to keep; it is easy to keep microfiber clean, but mine has piping around the edge, so vinegar and water is what I use to do the spot cleaning on that. It also works great for, you know, any kind of couch. Vinegar and water, you just spray on there and you can really work that out with a rug or a sponge, you know, just use this to get spots out. If you think you need to use a different solution; if there's a greasy spill or something like that; instead of vinegar and water, try using dish soap and water. It's really good at cutting grease. If you have kids that eat in the living room; this is a great stain remover too. You can get things like these at your local home improvement store or super center like grocery store and this is just a carpet cleaner to have in your home. It's for spot cleaning or big jobs. It's really handy. You can get ones that come with attachments that let you do your upholstery and things, you know, separately. Those are little more expensive, but it's worth it 'cause you don't have to hire professionals. I'm Rachel Yatuzis and that is how you clean carpet and upholstery.
