Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm here to tell you that yes you can wash your down comforter in your washing machine. If you think your washing machine is too small, which in some cases it may be, you may want to take your comforter to a laundry mat. They tend to have the bigger washing machines. But if you have a big enough washing machine it's perfectly safe to throw your comforter in there as long as it's a good size. After you put your down comforter in the washing machine let it go through it's cycle, you'll want to dry it. This is the tricky part because it may take all day and it may leave burn spots on your comforter if you don't go in there and shift it around a bit. Also, make sure to use tennis balls to throw in the dryer with the comforter to fluff it up a little bit. Check on it every hour at least to make sure that it is changing positions, that it's not staying in the same position and getting burn spots on it. You may even want to pull it out of the dryer and put it back in before you turn the dryer back on. And it may take a very long time depending on the size of the comforter. So worth it when you're laying in bed at night and it's nice and warm and you have a clean down comforter. I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I am here to tell you that yes you can wash your down comforter in the washing machine.
