Hi friends I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida and I've been asked a question of how to repel mice from your structure. Well mice can be a real bad problem once they do get into the structure but repelling them from the structure can be as easy as excluding them before they ever get in. Remember, mice like the food source. By eliminating food sources, open packages, anything that might be stacked up on the ground and have a little bit of air underneath, mice can get up underneath there and start feeding on those packages at the bottom. Food warehouses have real bad problem with mice in them. But the best way to get rid of them and repel them from the structure is by doing one, a thorough inspection around the entire structure to find out where the entrance is that the mice have of getting into the structure. The next is by excluding them from that structure. Now you can exclude them from the use of caulks, or weather tight seals or even a hardware cloth and put over the openings where the mice are gaining entrance to the area. Now hardware cloth can be actually cut to fit the different areas. I have a little sample of some hardware cloth right here in fact, this can be picked up at any local garden center or even a Lowe's or Home Depot and what you do is you just cut it to fit the opening, you put it over the opening where the mice were getting in and once you tack it down with a couple of screws, the mice won't be able to gnaw back through this area to get back into the structure. That's a good way to go ahead and exclude mice from getting into your home or structure. I'm Mark Govan with ABC Pest Control in Largo, Florida hoping you have a pest free day.
