Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going to show you how you get ink out of a shirt. Hairspray is the secret in this formula. You want to catch the ink stain as soon as you can. Obviously it's going to be easier to get out the sooner you catch it. But the hairspray really grabs hold of the ink and brings it to the surface so that when you wash it or when you pre-treat it, it's already loosen up and it's stuck to the hairspray and it comes out a lot easier. So I have red ink mark here and the blue ink mark. The red is marker; the blue is ink pen; either way, this is what you do. Douse the stain with hairspray and I mean really soak it with hairspray. Then, scrub it with a scrub brush and even grab a wet sponge and work it in like that. Repeat this a few times and you'll probably still going to see a mark, but, after you've done this two or three times, it's ready to be washed. You could spray a pre-treatment on it if you want and let that sit for about fifteen or twenty minutes. You can see right in front of your eyes, right here, it's already starting to disappear. When you wash the clothing item after this, you want to wash it in hot water; I would say will help get the stain out better. If it's a more delicate fabric, of course use cold water. The clue is hairspray, get to it as quick as you can and pre-treat it. After that, you know, you wash it as usual, dry it as usual and the stain should be gone. I'm Rachel Yatuzis and that is how you get ink out of a shirt.
