Hi! This is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, we will be laying out our kick plate. If we take a look at our drawing, we have this piece of wood down here at the bottom that will cover up our lower plywood piece and it will act like a piece of trim in kind of a kick plate. Now when I glued my bottom piece onto my bookshelf, I had measured up 2 1/2 inches. So if I verify that measurement, my kick plate piece will need to be 2 1/2 inches wide. Now this piece is going to run the entire length so if I take a measurement on that, I get 20 1/2 inches. So my overall measurements for that kick plate piece will be 2 1/2 inches by 20 1/2 inches and that will be made out of actual oakwood rather than plywood because it will act as trim to cover up my bottom piece.
