Hi this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we will be cutting our drawer bottoms. I went ahead and assembled my drawer using masking tape around the outside just to hold it together so I can see what the drawer is going to look like. You'll notice on the inside toward the bottom we have our dado that goes all the way around the inside the drawer. We need to cut our 1/4" plywood to fit in this dado and span across our entire bottom of our drawer. The first thing that I need to do is measure the depths of my dado cut. If I take a look at this I have a roughly 7/32 seconds of an inch. Now I now that my drawer bottom is going to go across my interfere bottom plus it's going to go inside the dado on each side. Now although my dado is 7/32 seconds deep I'm going to bump that down a little bit to 3/16 so that my drawer bottom will fit just a little bit loose. The next thing that I need to do is measure from the inside to the inside and I'm going to add 3/16 on each side. This is going to give me the width of my drawer bottom will need to be so it can slide into both of those dado's. I'm going to do this for the depth of the drawer also. After calculating out my drawer bottoms my width is 26 1/2" and my depth is 18 1/2". If I take a look at my cutting diagram I'm left with 5 sheets of 1/4" plywood I have some drawers coming out of this piece, some out these piece, I have some drawers coming out of each piece so I need to be real careful when making my cuts not to make any mistakes or mis calculate.
