Hello! My name is Matthew Christian from Tampa, Florida and on behalf of Expert Village, today I would like to talk to you about how to properly use and maintain a high limb chainsaw. Let's take a moment and talk about proper storage of your high limb chainsaw. Most areas of the country are seasonal. We are down here in Florida and there are times of the year when the trees and the grass doesn't grow very much and your high limb chainsaw is going to be sitting in storage for several months. There are a few things that you may want to do even if you are not storing for a long period of time. After use you want to follow these principles. After use, I would clean the machine. You can do this with soap water on the bar chain. You will also want to put some lubrication on your ball and chain to keep it from rusting. Another thing you may want to do is if you are going to store the machine for a long period of time, you might want to add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel mixture in your machine. What the fuel stabilizer does is it helps to prevent the fuel from turning to varnish and clogging up your carburetor. The fuel stabilizer acts as a preservative to help the fuel last longer and make sure that next season when you go to use your machine, it will start up for you. Also keep your machine in a cool dry place. You sure wouldn't want to store it outside; garage or shed, some place that will keep it dry and as cool as possible would be ideal.
