Hi! My name is Jennifer and I have over 10 years of wood working and furniture restoration experience. There are also other tools besides the sander and sandpaper that I need for this project as I will be taking the benches apart to sand the legs and supports. I will be using several screwdrivers and wrenches to remove the bolts that are keeping the benches together. When working, I find it helpful to use a plastic bag to store all the screws and bolts once removed from the piece. Also, since there is more than one bench in my overall project, I will keep all of the pieces from each bench in a separate area so they don't get mixed up with each other. Let's take a look at these bolts for a minute. As you can see, there is a lot of rust and wear on these pieces and since they aren't antiques or adding value to the benches, I've decided to replace them. If you have screws and bolts that are rusty and have decided to replace them also, always take some of the old pieces with you to the hardware store that way you can make sure you are buying the right new screws and bolts.
