How to take care of nuisance wild life, rodents and pest problems. This is Ed with Critter Control of Tampa Bay. Getting rid of mice with ammonia? It falls in the same category as using mothballs. Animals don't like the ammonia smell. You don't sleep with the Windex you're doing windows with. It's almost as bad as using bleach. It has a tremendous olfactory sense and most of these rodents, mice especially really have a good sense of odor. Their olfactory nerves are excellent. So will it get rid of them?
