Hi, this is Yolanda Vanveen, and in this segment we're going to learn all about how to grow limonium, or sea lavender. And when I grew up we always called it stattice, or my mom from Holland would call it statteece, but any way that you call it it's a gorgeous plant from the Mediterranean. So, limonium is found all the way around the Mediterranean, and they call it a sea lavender because it's found around the sea. And it's a great dried flower. It's one of the number one dried flowers in the world. And they grow in real sunny locations, and they like a lot of water, but they don't want to sit in water ever cause' that's the first way to kill it. So, you can start limonium by seed in the spring, and then let em' grow all the way through the summer. And then, don't let em' go back to seed. Cut em' down when they just are at their peak; when the flowers look just perfect, and then hang em' up and dry them, and that way you can enjoy their blooms all winter long, as well. So statteece, or stattice, or limonium, any way that you call it, is a gorgeous garden plant.
