Hi! I'm Mark Sullivan for Expert Village and today, we are going to learn how to build a barbecue pit. So now we have successfully dug our barbecue pit hole in the ground. We are not going to line this with anything right now. We are going to keep this open. The next step we are going to do is level the ground in the immediate area. What we will do first is since the slope of the ground is going downhill this way, we are going to put some one by one concrete blocks on this side with which to buttress our fill. This is the type of fill we are going to be using and this is called pea gravel. This actually is recycled from a roof job that we recently completed, so this was free. Anyway this is what we are going to do. We are going to use our level to check the level of the ground.
