Hi, I'm Gabi and I'm going to show you how to make a simple vinegar. So things you need are a strainer, one fresh lemon that's been cut in to quarters, a cup or anything with a spout and then a good bottle or jar with a lid. So the first thing I'm going to do is through the strainer, or you could use a juicer if you have one. I'm going to squeeze half of my lemon, that aside, and pour this in with just a little bit of water so it looks like that. And then I'm going to cover it and I'm going to put it in a cool dark place for five days. So my vinegar has been sitting in my cabinet for five days. Get it down and I'm going to squeeze a little more lemon juice. So what has happened here is the juice that was in the bottle before has turned in to a culture. And when I add the additional juice, and then fill the rest with water, I have a baby vinegar. So this is going to go back in a cool dark place for two weeks. So this can be whisked with olive oil and used as a salad dressing. It can be reduced and made in to a nice syrup to drizzle over ice cream and it can just be served by itself with vegetables.
