Alright now, after this lettuce has grown like this, you still want to keep it covered. But, we can't keep the cover right down to the lettuce or it'll kill it. So, what we're going to do is create a simple and easy cover. Now in the past, I used to use these hoops. It'd be put in the ground and the covers would go on that. And I've gone done to an even more simpler method where I just get some old wood. They could be limbs that you cut from a tree. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. You put these, you have to put these into the ground and we take string and we create a little roof over top of them. Here in the middle, you have it tied to there, all the way to the end. The reason for this top also, is to protect it from the insects and a lot of the varmints, especially bunnies, who would like to come in here and eat this lettuce. So, after we've installed the rope, then we take the remade cloth and we bring it down over it, like so. And then, we have various items here to hold it down to keep the wind from blowing it away. And as you can see, this rope here, is keeping it very nicely off of the lettuce. And then, to further secure it, we can put clothes pins on the top, running through the center to keep the wind from blowing. That's the way we cover them.
