I'm Bill Elzey, with Showplace Lawns. I want to talk to you a few minutes about, how to eliminate ants. The best thing to do with that is to have a nice fertile soil. Over time, working with your lawn and your plants and your beds, to keep the soil fertile with compost and fertilizers and mulches, keep things in a healthy environment, because believe it or not, any insect, ants included, do not like healthy plants, healthy soil. So to do that, in addition to help keep them away, would be to do a dry molasses app., and then use beneficial nematodes. Beneficial nematodes work on a lot of different things, especially ants. They spray out on the lawn, put it in the flower beds three times a year, will work wonders for controlling insects. They are more of a preventative, so we put those out ahead of time so they can keep the ants from coming in. So the dry molasses and the beneficial nematodes, two good things to do along with a healthy soil, to keep ants away.
