Today we're going to talk about how to pick out and care for a good romaine lettuce. These babies sell like hot cakes. We don't have too many left here. You want to make sure that they're not browning out or black spots on them or turning yellow or anything. It looks like these are wet so they're watering them pretty good. They should all be looking good. And they're all pretty good and solid at the bottom there. They're not snapped off or anything. So you want to take a look at that, make sure you're not buying a dead plant already. These are going to mature in about seventy-five to eighty-five days so it's going to take a little bit longer than the other kinds of lettuce. But the romaine is very popular. A lot of people get this one, they don't mind the wait. You want to plant them in full sun and use good black dirt to plant them with, potting mix or garden soil, anything like that'll work, as long as you're not planting them in sandy clay loam or something like that. You got to definitely water these babies, I try to recommend at least once a day. We water our stuff in this greenhouse everyday probably twice a day. So you definitely want to not forget to water them. You can use any basic Miracle-Gro fertilizer for these guys. That's what I recommend anyway, just basic Miracle-Gro, it's a good balanced fertilizer. It's good for just about anything. It's going to make them grow twice as big once it starts. You just make sure they're in full sun and you plant them early enough so that you've got enough time to harvest them before the season's through. And don't forget to water them. It's very important that you water them. And in about seventy-five, eighty-five days, you got some good old fresh romaine lettuce.
