Hi, my name's Jessica Smith. I'm with Bland's Nursery, in West Jordan, Utah, and today we're talking about growing sunflowers. Sunflowers are one of the easiest plants to grow. They like a full sunny location, and there's many varieties to choose from nowadays, from the old-fashioned varieties that grow ten feet high, and you can harvest your seed off the mammoth seed heads, to the small, little dwarf varieties in all different colors of golds, rust, and yellows. I recommend that you plant sunflowers in your annual or perennial beds. They make a great addition, long-lasting blooms, and they're easy to grow. They'll fairly grow in any type of a soil, but they do prefer organic matter. From wild varieties to your seed collecting varieties, plant sunflowers today. Sunflowers are also one that you can collect your own seed and plant from year to year.
