Hi, my name is Peter Gutwein and today we’ve been talking about some different minor repairs to your mower. The next thing I want to talk about is torqueing your head bolt down, especially on this style mower engine. The head bolt tends to loosen on the bottom side and so what you want to do is retighten that up so you don’t have to replace the head gasket. So the first thing you want to do is find your head, it’s on the side of the mower on this one, the spark plug is right in the middle and that’s real common for this. You can go ahead and get the wire out of the way so that you’re not running up against there and the proper way to do this would be to use a torque wrench. I believe on this mower it’s a 120 inch, you can get a manual for your mower, you can call the dealer and they can tell you what it is based on your model. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to start on the bottom middle, we’re just going to give it a nice little crank on there and then you do it in a star like pattern. The manual will tell you the number that you do it. So we’re just going to go around tighten them up, oh that one was loose and then I just kind of double check them, make sure the head is nice and solid and then you can just go ahead and reinstall your spark plug boot and that’s how you would retorque down a head on a basic lawnmower.
