Now that we have our base materials down in the planter or the raised bed for drainage and for something to hold up the planting medium. A planting medium is going to be top soil, a potting soil and regular cow manure with humus in it. We are going to mix them in equal parts and we are going to do it here in this wheel barrow to provide about 6 or 8 inches of soil that we are actually going to put our plants into. It's a matter of ripping them open and dumping them in one at a time. The manure is heavy. It's got a lot of moisture in it but this manure is fortified with humus so it has been composted and it will be a matter of mixing those components together in a wheel barrow until it is uniform and ready to go into the planter.
