I'm Bill Elzey with Showplace Lawns. Let's talk a little bit about how to make sure your lawn mower will start next Spring. There is nothing more aggravating than for the grass to start growing and the mower won't start. A couple of things that you can take care of to insure that the mower should run provided that there is nothing major wrong with the engine. First, you will want to change and put a new air filter in. Air is key so the engine can breath. Last year's filter may be o'kay but it is best to start each season with a new air filter. The same thing with the spark plug. Change out your spark plug. A new spark plug and a new air filter will work wonders for you. The other thing that you will need to do is to change the oil in the old machine. Drain the old oil out and put some new oil in and you should be ready to go. Also make sure that you have fresh gasoline. Sometimes the best way to do that is to come around to where the carburetor is, drain the gas out of the carburetor, close it back up and put new gas in. These things will help insure that the lawn mower will start next Spring.
