I'm Bill Elzey with Showplace Lawns. Let's talk about how to edge a lawn. Today we're going to use what they refer to as a stick edger. Now the other edger variety is the kind you will push with wheels but it's got the same mechanism and is treated the same way. Safety glasses are a must when working with this equipment. Earmuffs are the ideal solution to protect your hearing. Earplugs will work. Put them in; make sure they're in good and snug. But you definitely want to take precautions for seeing and hearing. What you do is you get that blade in that edge groove right there. And follow it, trying to stay off of the concrete. And that's the basics of how you edge a lawn.
