Hi, my name is Peter Gutwein and today we’ve talking about some minor lawnmower repairs. Another big enemy to lawnmowers is a dirty cooling fins. These are air cooled mowers, there’s no water cooling these things off, so it’s really crucial to have a really good air flow across your cooling fins. The best way to do that is to use some compressed air. You don’t have to really take anything off, although if it’s really bad you would have to remove the whole top of the mower. You could take that to a local dealer, it’s not hard but it might be a little more than you’re willing to do. So I have a compressor with some compressed air here, so we’re going to go ahead and just, what you do is you can just blow from either the top down, but I like to blow from the bottom up, so you just kind of blow in here, this is where your fan right here and that’s the cooling fins right across the head right there. Then I just double check it, I’ll go ahead and blow from the top down, so you know that the top here is the intake or the output of the air, I’m sorry, it sucks the air from the bottom and blows it off the top and then you can just get rid of all the grass off the top of your deck and make it look nice and that’s how you would clean the cooling fins on your basic mower.
