Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis and I'm going to teach you some recipes for natural cleaning products. Natural cleaning products are always better. This is really my line of work and I think that anyone raising a family in their home should use natural cleaning products because your eliminating the fumes that your family is inhaling. If you use products that have really strong smells, you're creating indoor air pollution. Those fumes cause asthma. They're really bad for babies. You don't want your kids within ten feet of a bottle of Clorox bleach or, you know, other pine cleaners and things like that. You wouldn't let your kids touch 'em. If you switch to all natural cleaning products, your kids can help you clean. That's the best thing in the world right? So, you want to have some vinegar handy at all times. Vinegar is the "do all" of the household cleaners. It will clean everything. It's safe on wood. It doesn't streak on glass. It's really great for calcium deposits on metal like on your shower head and things like that. Your bathtubs, vinegar in water is the ultimate cleaning product and it only takes a little bit of a sp...you know, like a splash of vinegar in a spray bottle of water and you can do your whole house with that. If you need something to scrub, you want to try to make a scrubby, tile and grout paste-like substance. It'll be about this consistency and you make that using baking soda and vinegar, or baking soda and water. Either way, it makes a really great soft scrub. Homemade all natural soft scrub. It's totally harmless and it tastes bad, so if your kids eat it, it'll be the only time they eat it and they're not going to have to take a trip to the emergency room. You want to add some salt into that concoction. It makes it a little more abrasive and a little more powerful as, as far as the scrubbing ability. Lemons are awesome for cleaning like pots and pans and things like that. They help get rid of rust. They have a really neat chemical reaction when you use a lemon to help clean any metal and you can use the lemon to actually scrub just like the lemon is a sponge. If you slice it in half and use the open part to really scrub cutting boards, pots and pans, it's a disinfectant, it smells great, so lemons are awesome to have around the house, also. There's a number of different things and you want to go and research, there are tons of different ways to make cleaning products out of foods and things like that so just research 'em, but these are all the basic ones. I'm Rachel Yatuzis, and that is how you, recipes for natural cleaning products.
