Hi, I'm Rachel Yatuzis, and I'm going to tell you a little bit about the best green cleaning supplies for floors. There's lots of things that you can buy that are on the market now that are green cleaning products. The one thing you want to look for as far as floors is make sure that it does not contain any type of wax. Wax is not biodegradable, therefore, the products would not be green. I know that Method makes a great hardwood floor cleaner, but the really...the best and the greenest thing and the cheapest thing you can use to clean floors is good, old vinegar and water. Vinegar and water will clean anything. Like I always say, vinegar is the best thing, especially for floors. It's a disinfectant. It's non-toxic. If you have a baby in your house, you don't want to mop your floors with Pine-Sol. You wouldn't let your child come within 10 feet of that bottle of Pine-Sol. So don't mop your floors with Pine-Sol and then you have your baby crawling across the floor, putting his hands in his mouth. It's just not safe. It also creates toxic fumes that your family may be inhaling, and that contributes to indoor air pollution. Yes, there is such a thing. So vinegar and water is the best green cleaning product for cleaning floors. All you need to do is take this 95 cent gallon of vinegar, and this will last you months in your house if you use it to clean with and to cook with. It'll last forever. Put a splash of it in a bucket. Fill the bucket about two-thirds of the way up with water. Grab a mop, and get to work. It's perfectly safe for hardwood, linoleum, tile, marble, anything. It's harmless, and it works wonderfully. If you're worried about the smell, with as little vinegar as you use, if you do smell vinegar, it'll only be for about five seconds. As soon as it dries, you will no longer smell it. I'm Rachel Yatuzis, and that is the best green cleaning product for floors.
