Hello! My name is Reggie Whitehead. Today I am going to be speaking with you about growing tropical ferns courtesy of the Tropical Fern Exotic Plant Society and on behalf of Back to Maiden Hair Ferns. Maiden Hair ferns are some of the prettiest ferns that you will find around. Maiden Hair Ferns are a staple of South Florida and we can grown them outside. Some people think that Maiden Hair ferns are a little difficult to grow but once you understand what they require, they can become quite easy. One time I had about a 100 different varieties of Maiden Hair Ferns. The Maiden Hair Fern that I am holding up now is Adiadam Tenerum and this one is Adiadam Tenerum Rosain, Rosain because of the rosey pink color and the juvenile franz. Now we tend to think of ferns of being old green but this Maiden Hair. The leaves of this plant come out red; these are the juvenile franz and then fade to a pink to a green. There are approximately 200 species of Maiden Hair primarily located here in the America's.
