A rather large perennial that is in the same class as the indigo spires. This one goes by the name of buddelaya. As you can see, it was cut back quite severely and is already beginning to exhibit new blooms.

After you’ve cut the plant back, the next thing to do is water it extremely well, put down a good, all-purpose fertilizer, and then it would be mulched from there.
