Now, let's talk a little bit about taking care of this blueberry plant through out the seasons. We planted it, and we want to plant this bush in the early April after frost. And now, it's a year or so and we want to make sure that this bush gets food. It needs to get some nutrients and we've created a nice acidic atmosphere to live in. But, they need a few more nutrients in that and here I have a well composted dirt. This dirt started out as leaves and gardening debris and all kinds of compost type materials and now it's broke down to where it's nice and full of nutrients. It's got all the microorganisms in it. It's got all the ingredients in there that's actually going to help break down some of this pine needles. So, what we want to do is sprinkle a little bit of this around the blueberry plant. You can even open up a little bit here where the mulch is and get some right down in there and kind of just kind of work it in. You get this nice compost, it's well balanced. Got plenty of nutrients for the plant so that it's all during April and May, it can grow and thrive and produce beautiful, beautiful berries.
