Hello, my name is Jose Zuniga and I'm representing expertvillage.com. We have to prepare the Mexican Heather for its new home. Why is this? Well they've been sitting here for at least 6 months, we got to prepare them for their new home, we got to loosen up their root system, we got to soak them in water. Well for starters what we need to do be sure that the plant is completely cleaned, that it doesn't have any yellow leaves, if you find some just remove them. These appear to be extremely healthy, so we're fine when it comes to this end. Now, I always like to soak the plant, why? You're going to remove from the container, its been there for probably more than 6 months and you're going to take it to the ground level and it is going to go in through shock, so we've got to prepare it. What do we do? We're going to soak in water, but before we soak in water, follow these simple steps; get a hold of the container, apply pressure to the container just like I'm doing, get a hold of the plant right here so we don't damage it and what we're going to do is slowly start pulling it. There we go, we don't want to damage any of the root system, there we go. Actually this particular one has the good moisture, which is good, now look at all the root system, it's just all tangled it's ready to run and we're going to help it. Why? Cause slowly we're going to apply pressure here and we're going to try to loosen up the root system, just go all the way around it slowly, you got to be firm and gentle with it, now this one is ready. When it comes to the one gallon container, it's the same rule that applies, just apply pressure all around it, just have fun good therapy, there we go, flip to the side, put your fingers, pull it apart slowly. Okay there we go, now this one is a little bit dry but it's okay because we're going to soak it in water for a couple of minutes. Now, look at all that root system, it's just ready to grow and we're going to help it, just apply pressure, slowly go around, there we go, just loosen up the root system, that's what we want to do to help it grow so it can be healthy. Put it back in the container and fill the container with 1/2 water which I've done this and just add one at time, there we go and just let it sit there for about 20 minutes or so, let them soak, we're going to get this one, now let's finish the rest of them. This is how we prepare our Mexican Heathers for planting.
