Hi, I'm Stan DeFreias, Mr. Greenthumb for On Gardening. One of the tools that I like is the soaker hose. Soaker hoses are easy to apply. You simply kind of lay it out where you need to put water and it just kind of percolates through the edges of the material. So, it's as the name implies, it's a soaker hose. This one is a fifty footer and its five eighths inch diameter and it certainly will help save water. That's the big kick. Everybody wants to save potable water. If you use a soaker hose and you put it in an area, you can have a permanent setting, if you wish and you can even cover this over with mulch. If you don't have an automatic system, this is probably the next best thing. Simply put the soaker hose out, put it on on a regular basis. Some people even attach a timer to it and you can have your plants, your hedges, especially new plants need to get water on a regular basis. Remember, if a plant dries, it dies. It's just that simple. Soaker hoses can help keep your plants alive and well. For On Gardening, I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr. Greenthumb.
