Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment we're going to talk about where to grow a vegetable garden. Well it should be where not to grow a vegetable garden because vegetables will grow anywhere that they get some sunlight. So even if you live in the city or you have a small apartment or you have only a small patio, you can still grow a vegetable garden. All you need to have a vegetable garden is either a small container or you can build a very easy raised bed using cement blocks or bricks and just by piling them up, you can make a beautiful small vegetable garden. Just use lots of good composted organic material and make sure that there's good drainage and you've got to make sure that there's at least a half a day to full day of sun because if there's not enough sun, your vegetables will not grow that well. But you can always use artificial lights too to help out a little bit if you don't have enough sun. And you can grow a vegetable garden pretty much anywhere in the world as long as you have compost plants, some type of a growing material, something to grow it in and lots of water. And you want to make sure and not give them too much water either because you don't want it to become a mud pit. And I always say mix up your herbs and your edible flowers and your vegetables in the same bed because that way you can enjoy them all and it is your vegetable garden, you can plant anything that you want anytime that you want and anywhere that you want because it's all about you.
