Hello everybody I am David Rodriquez, horticulturist with Texas Agri-life Extension service on behalf of Expert Village and we are going to show you some gardening steps in preparing your vegetable garden for the spring planting. A lot of people ask, well what kind of tools do I need to do simple vegetable gardening? It is very simple and you don’t have to spend that much money but the few dollars that you spend; you need a good garden trowel. Dig those holes for transplants or if that soil is real loose you have got five fingers there, you can use that, a simple de-handled shovel, just to get that good compost or move some of that soil around here and there, very simple, very easy to use, a good grade grubbing hoe to chop any weeds that you might have growing in, in and around your beds and the mulch area and in your walkways. Chops the weeds real good, levels it out real easy, very simple to use a good grubbing hoe, to get, to get the bed level and rake out any debris or rocks a good gardening, garden hoe works very good and very simple. So that is all you really need, four or five basic tools and a good wheel barrow doesn’t hurt either and it is easy to move that compost and garden mix around here and there where you need it.
