Hello my name is Jose Zuniga and I'm representing expertvillage.com. Well selecting your location for your vegetable garden is extremely important. A good tip is do you live... is it an area that is really windy? If that is the case, try to plant your vegetable garden near the foundation of your house, because you are going to have a little bit of protection against the wind for your plants. I happen to be very lucky because my kitchen, the kitchen door is on the side of the house. So I'm going to have 2 barriers. I'm going to have the fence on my right side and the house on the other side. So what is going to happen, if it is really windy it is going to protect my garden. Also it is going to create more moisture for your root system, and your going to have a healthier crop, a great harvest. I happen to be lucky in this area because it is enclosed, it is like a courtyard, and also its going to keep any pets away any cats that may destroy my vegetable garden and you don't want that. Also I happen to have a herb garden, so its all going to incorporate and it is going to look good. Now in the event that you are planning your vegetable garden, let's say it is the middle of your yard, it would always to be a good idea if you kind of fenced out, because that way you could protect it from any cats or any animals that want to get into your vegetable garden that they probably destroy it. This is why I selected this particular location, not only because it's full sun, and remember sometime some of these vegetables require partial sun, so there is a tree behind me that is going to incorporate really well. With the vegetables that are not doing very well, just move it to shaded area and you should be fine. Now this is how we select the area for our vegetable garden.
