Hi, I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr. Green Thumb for On Gardening. One of the tools that we use the most in the vegetable garden or in the lawn and garden, is the large shovel. This is sometimes called the pony shovel. It's a landscape shovel. I can tell you, I've used cheap shovels and I've used more expensive ones and you're always better to put your money into good tools. This one has a heavy, well made design. You can see it has a fiberglass handle. That's great. I've used this where I was taking out large roots and it didn't break. I can't say the same thing for some of the wooden shovels that I've used in the past. Make sure it has a good, strong, well built shovel part and that it's sharp on the edges. If you're not so sure, take a file and kind of put an edge to your shovel. It'll make your gardening work a lot easier. Having a good tool is important and having a good garden. It makes the work easier. Now, we said good quality tool, good handle is important, and of course this one even actually has a good handle on the black here where you can put your torque on to this. It's sort of a rubbery handle so it's not so hard on your hands as well. Getting good tools is important if you want to be a good gardener. For On Gardening, I'm Stan DeFreitas, Mr. Green Thumb.
