Hi, this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment, I'm going to talk about, "What does grass need to grow?" Now grass is just a plant like any other plant and it only needs a few things and that's sunlight, soil or nutrition, so they need good compost or potting soil to grab onto when they grow, and lots of water. The only time you can get your grass to start growing is in the spring when the nights start to warm up or in the fall when the nights are still warm but there's lots of moisture in the air and it's starting to rain here and there. That's the best time. So, a lot of times if you start your grass in the middle of summer, it just bakes. It's not, it's getting too hot. They need more moisture so that they... grass likes a lot of moisture in the evenings to grow really well. so only start your lawn in the spring and the fall and good compost soil underneath it and lots of water and it'll grow really well.
