An English garden of 1850 would have had several varieties of Hollyhock. The colors included in this packet include yellow, purple, pink, red, white and apricot. Hollyhocks need full sun and lots of heat. They are somewhat drought tolerant, but will do better with ample water and a deep rich soil. Flowers are edible. Often treated as a biennial, but actually a short lived perennial.
