Using the hammer and chisel, chip away at the brittle spot in the concrete and fashion it into a square-shaped hole. Flatten the bottom and undercut the four sides.
Sweep away the debris and dust from out of the hole with a broom.
Apply a concrete bonding liquid to the sides of the hole with a paintbrush to allow the concrete mix to adhere properly.
Mix the QUIKRETE with water until it is has the consistency of modeling clay. According to the QUIKRETE website, "Start with about 1 part water to 5 parts of Quick-Setting Cement." Mix only the amount of concrete you need to fill the hole.
Scoop the QUIKRETE into the hole with a metal trowel and smooth into the corners. Work quickly to smooth the top of the patch so that it is level with the rest of the surface.
Sweep a moistened broom over the surface of the path to give it texture. The QUIKRETE will set in approximately 10 minutes.
