cups carrot, grated
2 cups potatoes, grated
2-1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
2 cups raisins
2 cups currants
2 cups brown sugar
1-1/2 cups suet OR 1 cup margarine
4 tbs. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
Combine and mix in order given. Turn into well greased heat proof bowl; cover and steam about 3 hours. Takes a medium sized bowl. Serve with brown sugar sauce, or custard, or whatever you like.
