Caramel Fondue and Apples
Caramel apples are as much a part of fall as colored leaves and county fairs. This year, bring the goodness--and the favorite that's all the rage again.
Ingredients
1 package (14 oz.) caramels
1/4 cup evaporated milk or half and half
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
3 medium (about 1 lb.) Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, and or Red Delicious apples, cut into bite size pieces
1/2 cup chopped peanuts or pecans
Method:
- Combine caramels, milk and butter in 1-quart microwave-safe measure or bowl. Microcook at HIGH (100%) 2 to 3-1/2 minutes. Pour mixture into 1-quart fondue pot. Serve, heated, with cut apples and skewers for dipping apples into fondue then into nuts
