No matter where you live, insects and other types of pests are likely to be a problem. Whether you grow vegetables, fruit, flowers or don't even have a garden at all, there is sure to be something in your yard or home that attracts pests. Since it is hard to prevent pests from coming to your property, you must take measures to get rid of them. Many commercial pesticides use chemicals which are harmful to animals, humans and the environment. Rather than choosing that route, you can make a pesticide with natural ingredients.
Blend five cloves of garlic, one onion and one jalapeno in a blender at medium speed for five seconds.
Add 1 tsp. ground cayenne pepper and 1 gallon of water to the blender. Run the blender for an additional 10 seconds.
Pour the contents of the blender into a pot. Put the pot on the stove and bring the water to a boil. The heat will help the chemicals from the ingredients infuse with the water.
Remove the pot from the heat and put on a lid on it after it boils for 30 seconds. Let the water sit for two hours.
Pour the water through a sieve to separate the solid food from the liquid. Pour the filtered liquid into a spray bottle.
Add 1 tsp. of liquid dish soap to the spray bottle. Put a lid on the bottle and shake it up to mix the soap with the water.
Spray the liquid directly on pests and any areas that they inhabit.
