Some people enjoy dandelion tea for its medicinal qualities and other people just enjoy the natural goodness of this home-brewed tea. Whether you roast and grind your own dandelion root powder from dandelions you harvest yourself or you purchase the root powder, you can make a delicious tea to enjoy at any time of day. Steep the tea for several minutes and then experiment with sweeteners to turn this tea into a calming warm beverage.
Place approximately 1 cup of water into the saucepan. Add 1 to 2 tsp. of dandelion root powder to the water. Add a small pinch of ground cinnamon if you wish.
Bring the water to a boil and simmer the ingredients for approximately 30 seconds. Remove the saucepan from the heat and cover it.
Steep the tea for five minutes.
Remove the saucepan cover and stir the tea.
Pour the tea into the teacup and add whatever additional ingredients you wish (sweetener and milk or cream).
Drink the tea immediately.
