Fruit Display Ideas

Fruit can be used for a festive and stunning display to your home. They are an edible way to decorate areas of your home for a sweet addition to the space. Use in season fruits for colorful and vibrant touches to table tops or as the focal point to a living room during a dinner party. Their sweet and natural effect when grouped together or standing alone makes for a gorgeous and delicious display.

Apple Centerpiece

Who says you need flowers to create a vibrant centerpiece? Instead, use your favorite apples to create a delicious and stunning addition to your table. Start with a clear vase that's wide enough to hold at least two apples side-by-side. A cylindrical vase works well for this design. Begin placing the apples into the vase and up to one to two inches from the lip of the vase. Bright green granny smith apples look particularly elegant inside a clear vase and contrast nicely as the main centerpiece on your dining table. Add red apples for a variegated and cheerful design to the space.

Pear Topiary

Create an elegant pear topiary for an entry foyer or as a design addition on your fireplace mantle. Use a piece of floral foam carved into a topiary shape, typically a cone shape. Next, stick long floral sticks into the pears and then through the floral foam. Work your way around the foam until the pears have covered the entire piece. Don't worry about a perfect shape, just add them side-by-side for a tight fit around the floral foam. To contrast with the lovely pears, add sprigs of greenery like cedar or holly in between any empty spaces. Your topiary will come alive with splashes of color and an edible topiary design.

Orange Initials

For an unusual and sweet placeholder at your next dinner party, use oranges. Larger oranges like navel oranges are perfect for this design because of the large surface area but small tangerines also work. Coupled with the oranges, use fragrant cloves as the initials. Begin poking the scented cloves into the orange for the guest's initial. For smaller oranges like a tangerine, just use the first or last letter. Large navel oranges can handle both initials and will be an unexpected and fun parting gift for all your guests, not to mention a sweet scent to fill any room.
