The most popular pomegranate is the "Wonderful" (Punica granatum). This fruit-bearing plant has deep red flowers and attractive glossy foliage. It is grown in cooler regions as an ornamental, although it will not develop fruit in those regions. The fruit of "Wonderful" is smaller than some varieties but is very reliable.
