Cleaning a garden sprayer with chlorine bleach is safe with a solution of about 1 oz. (30 ml) bleach in 1 gallon (3.82 l) of water. This is strong enough to sanitize. Repeated use of full-strength bleach can cause damage to the plastic, rubber and metal parts of a sprayer.
