Roses do best with a balanced, general-purpose fertilizer. Feed them at the beginning of spring, then after the first blooming cycle in about mid-June, plus mid-July for roses that bloom continuously. Species (wild) roses only need the first application. Organic mulch on roses might require extra nitrogen.
