Vegetables are often started in pots and transplanted outdoors as soon as the weather allows so gardeners have a head start on growing. Vegetables should be transplanted as soon as the weather warms up after your region's last frost date. Check with the National Climatic Data Center (see Resources) to determine when the last frost occurs in your region.
